Have you ever experienced that curious — almost magical — moment when you clearly hear someone calling your name… but when you look around, there is no one nearby?
At first glance, it is natural to look for logical explanations: a sound coming from the street, a neighbour speaking loudly, or even an electronic device making noises. But when it happens repeatedly, with clarity and without any obvious physical cause, perhaps it is time to look through the eyes of the soul.
In some cases, this phenomenon may be connected to a spiritual sensitivity known as clairaudience — the ability to perceive sounds, words, or messages coming from subtle planes, even when the world around you is silent.
In these moments, you may be sensing the presence of a spiritual guide, a benevolent spirit… or even a consciousness seeking help, light, or reconnection.
Spiritist Doctrine calls this auditory mediumship. But more than a label, it is an invitation:
to listen with the heart,
to cultivate discernment and serenity,
and to recognise that there are invisible channels connecting us to what lies beyond matter.
As Chico Xavier used to say, no mediumistic ability is a burden — when understood with love, it becomes a bridge between worlds, an instrument of light, and an opportunity to serve.
If you experience something similar, receive it with respect.
Not everything we hear comes from outside. Sometimes, it is the soul awakening to hear what had previously gone unnoticed.
