Jupiter-Ketu Conjunction in Magha: A Rare and Powerful Yoga Begins October 31
How this alignment has historically marked major transitions, cultural shifts, and the clearing of outdated structures—and what it may mean for us now.
Starting at the end of October, Jupiter and Ketu will come together in an extremely rare conjunction that could lead to foundational upsets, unraveling, and new beginnings. These radical moves may impact both our own lives and the world at large.
The Jupiter-Ketu conjunction will begin when Jupiter enters Leo on October 31. In its highest expression, this is a very spiritual combination, known in Vedic astrology as Ganapati (or Ganesha) Yoga. This alignment enhances divine illumination as it brings together Jupiterian wisdom (jnana/gyan) with the liberating influence of Ketu (moksha).
The Jupiter-Ketu combination is also known as Parampara Yoga, which according to Mundane astrology emphasizes the value and importance of the cultural customs, spiritual traditions, and core values that have been transmitted down the line in families, organizations, and societies.
The Timing of This Extraordinary Conjunction
As I previously mentioned, this conjunction will begin on October 31. Jupiter and Ketu will initially be conjoined in Magha nakshatra near the beginning cusp of Leo. They will transit together in Leo for a while, then will transit on the Cancer-Leo cusp in an out-of-sign conjunction starting December 5. Beginning on January 24, they will begin their transit together in Cancer, which will last until June 25, 2027. (Note that I am using the Mean Node calculation in my work).
Mars will join the party on November 12. This will amplify the Jupiter-Ketu conjunction already in place. From this date throughout the rest of November and the first four days of December, these three planets will remain together in the first drekkana (ten degrees) of fiery Leo, an area of the zodiac associated with volatile events.
As I mentioned above, this event will begin with Jupiter and Ketu conjoined in Magha nakshatra. Magha is a portion of the zodiac that spans the first 13 degrees and 20 minutes of Leo. It is a regal, charged section of the sky that is connected to leadership, authority, rulers, and idealism. Magha is further defined by its profound connection to hereditary traditions, power structures, social order, and moral and ethical responsibility.
Ketu, the unpredictable ruler of Magha nakshatra, has been in this area of the cosmos for a while now. In fact, Ketu has been transiting in Magha nakshatra since March 2026. This will continue until December 5 (again, using the Mean Node calculation).
Historically, when Ketu transits in Magha, it has served as a corrective force, exposing instabilities within organizations that have become inefficient or detached from their original purpose.
